PROCESS

For the process of making seed paper, you really only need a few things:

  1. a sturdy blender
  2. any type or color of paper
  3. water
  4. seeds of any type
First, you tear the paper into small pieces and soak them in water for about 10 minutes to ensure they are soggy enough to blend into a pulp. Next, you'll want to add the paper and water to the blender and blend until the texture is very fine. The finer it is, the more you can manipulate it and/or make it thinner. After blending, you can add the mixture to more water in order to make it even more fine.

Then, strain the mixture with a strainer or with a screen. For the purpose of this project, I used a strainer because my main purpose was to make sure the mixture would actually grow a sprout when properly cared for.

The last step is to simply place the paper in some well-watered soil and care for it the way you would any normal plant.
